Changes in sales to the foreign market


In January 2008 the turnover in the industry registered a variation counterpart from 6.1 percent, a figure that represents an acceleration of 1.5 percentage points (pp) on the previous month.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), although this acceleration is associated with an acceleration of sales to the foreign market, sales for the domestic market continued to increase at a rate "significantly" higher than that of the entire index.
