USA: ISM industry backs to 48.1% in February

The ISM index for the manufacturing activity in the United States fell to levels that indicate contraction according to the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).

The indicator that collects feedback from managers of shopping back to 48.1%, against 50.5% in January. A reading below 50 indicates contraction in activity, according agreed among economists.

It is the second time in three months that the ISM's manufacturing backs to levels that indicate a contraction in activity, which is now a minimum of 5 years.

According to the ISM report for the manufacturing sector, a component of new orders fell to 49.1, compared with 49.5% in January, while the indicator on production fell to 50.7%, compared to 55.2 January
