Moçambique: Consortium Portuguese-South African city of Maputo will clear


Maputo, Mozambique, February 14 - The consortium formed by companies Portuguese EGF and South African Neoquimica won the tender for cleaning of the urban area of Maputo, in the next 3 years, said Wednesday in Maputo the councillor for the area of Health.

In statements to the Portuguese news agency Lusa, the councillor John Shwalbach said that the grant provides for the placement by the consortium SFT / Neoquimica in the "zone of cement" of Maputo, "750 new containers in a new fleet of cars."

For cleaning the suburban area of the city, the competition was won by South African firm Environment Service, said Shwalbach.

The municipal authorities of Maputo expect "profound improvements" in the improvement of the Mozambican capital, which Shwalbach, produces about 1100 tonnes of waste per day.

The councillor for the area of the municipality of Maputo Health did not specify the amount involved in contracts with the consortia that will clean up Maputo, but said that will be deployed "millions of dollars".
